Not According to Script
BY BRENDAN MINITERA Positive War Film
John Casteel - Traverse City, Mich.
Mr. Miniter, I would suggest "The Great Raid," made a couple of years ago, as another great tribute to our soldiers and the evil they sometimes face.
Pro-American Movies
Steve Clayton - Jacksonville, N.C.
The message is clear: the American people want to see movies that support our military made by men and women who want to see our nation win. They want to see movies where the Americans aren't portrayed as monsters, but for what they really are; the greatest fighting force in history responding when duty calls.
Recognizing Heroes
David Skocik - Dover, Del.
Thanks. There are a great many of us Vietnam vets who are gratified to know that the warrior is being held separate from the war. I believe much of that has to do with conservative media and patriotic individuals willing to stand up to the anti-war crowd and rally for the troops.
There's a banner in a display case on the second level, B-ring, of the Pentagon that says it well: "Every generation has its heroes. This one is no different."
The YouTube Awards
Donna Danckaert - Severna Park, Md.
Hollywood has all those silly self-congratulating award shows for its films. I think the Internet should do an award show or viewer vote for the best real life videos. It would give the videos and the persons involved some recognition for their efforts.
