Early on in "Not Fade Away," David Chase's new movie about the life-changing power of rock 'n' roll, a clean-cut New Jersey teenager watches the first U.S. national television appearance by the Rolling Stones, introduced by Dean Martin on "The Hollywood Palace." It is June 1964. Before you know it, the kid is playing drums in a garage band, smoking pot and rocking high-heeled boots, snap-tab collars and a Yardbirds haircut.
