Ligety Gains Momentum Ahead of Sochi Games

U.S. alpine skier Ted Ligety took the world championship in super combined Monday in Schladming, Austria. Ligety hadn't won a race in super combined since the 2006 Olympics. A giant slalom specialist who is morphing into a threat in speed events, Ligety finished the downhill portion of the super combined just .72 seconds behind the speed specialists, then crushed his slalom and won under the lights by a startling 1.15 seconds. Ligety is the favorite to win the giant slalom Friday.

Golden State to Add Sleeves to Their Jerseys

The Golden State Warriors are going tank-top-less. On Friday, the hoops team will eschew conventional jerseys and wear uniforms with short sleeves instead. The garb's developer, Adidas, said the sleeves have a stretch fabric that allows arms to move freely. "I love the fit and style the sleeves give me on the court," forward Harrison Barnes said in a statement. The team plans to wear the uniforms three times this season.

Vick's Style Could Fly in Eagles' New Offense

Michael Vick will be returning to Philadelphia next season after the team restructured the quarterback's contract. Vick hasn't played a full season since 2006, but could be an asset in new Eagles coach Chip Kelly's offense, which thrives on mobile quarterbacks who can make plays with their feet and arms. In a news conference Monday, Kelly said that there will be an "open competition" between Vick and Nick Foles.
